There are two main international airports in Shanghai, one is Shanghai Pudong International Airport and the other is Shanghai Hongqiao International Airport.

By Taxi

There are taxi and ride-hailing stations at the airports and train stations, which operate 24 hours a day. There are about 200 barrier free taxis in Shanghai. Taxi drivers leaving from the airport are likely to accept cash, but might not have exact change. It is therefore recommended to prepare smaller amounts of RMB as well. In other situations, electronic payment by WeChat Pay and Alipay is the norm. It is usually also possible to pay with a Shanghai Public Transportation card.

By metro (subway)

Nearest Subway Station to the Hotel (6 mins walk): Hengshan Road Station衡山路站 (Line 1)

Shanghai Hongqiao International Airport currently has Metro lines 2 and 10 and Shanghai Pudong International Airport has Metro line 2 leading to the city centre. The Shanghai Metro runs from 5-6 a.m. to 10:30-11 p.m., and the fare is 3 to 8 RMB. Please note that the operating times and fare prices are subject to change.

After your arrival, you could go to a Shanghai Metro service station to buy a Shanghai Public Transportation card. These service stations are only available at select Metro stations, but most major stops, such as at airports, have them. Usually, you would pay 100 RMB the first time (20 RMB card deposit and 80 RMB to charge the card). Other stations have self-service ticket machines that generally accept e-payments by phone and sometimes cash. You can also purchase single-journey tickets by selecting the final station you will travel to. Please note that these tickets are valid for the day of purchase only.
